Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis
In this module, I'll be covering 4 topics plus a summary, which fit into the concept of the Hierarchy of Health.
-
Osteoporosis I is an overview of the basics and what conventional treatment looks like
-
Osteoporosis II looks at how toxins including medications affect bone
-
Osteoporosis III deals with the link between the gut and bone
-
Osteoporosis IV takes a look at how micronutrients such as vitamins and minerals affect bone
-
Osteoporosis V is a summary of all the topics
Bone is a living organ which is constantly being built up and broken down. This is called bone turnover. Good bone health requires a balance between the cells that build (osteoblasts) and the cells that breakdown (osteoclasts). When there is a mismatch between the two and there is more bone breakdown than bone building, the result is net bone loss. This can result in below average bone density which is called osteopenia, or even lower bone density that puts you at risk of fracture. This is called osteoporosis.
But where does the gut fit in? The gut and inflammation are intricately linked. Osteoporosis and inflammation are also intricately linked. It appears that a good gut begets good bone. Tune into the module to find out more..
