Osteoporosis V
In this topic I will give a summary of what we've learned.
Some questions to ask yourself -
How much exercise do I need to keep healthy?
I don't directly answer this. This is because exercise tolerance varies from individual to individual and will depend on how well you are and to a certain extent, how strong your bones are already. It's best to do the amount of exercise that makes you feel good and energised, rather than giving you a prescription of a certain amount. Weight bearing exercise such as walking or running provides more stimulus for your body to build healthy bone than non-weight bearing exercise such as swimming. Although, really, I'd be more happy that you are doing any exercise regularly than no exercise at all.
How to spot the toxins?
Toxins are the most important environmental challenge of our times. As such you should pay attention to your food, water and personal care items, as toxins in these will build up in your body and likely your bone over many years. Let's not forget medicines. Not only are medicines found in drinking water but many people don't realise that many have an effect on bone.
What micronutrients should I be taking to maintain or build healthy bone?
Supplements? I'd prefer you to think about how to eat nutrient dense food that will supply your needs. For that you'll need to make good shopping choices but also you'll need to ferment your food.
