D2D Phase III

If you have successfully completed phase I and II of D2D, your body should be able to now cope with the demands of Phase III. In this phase we focus on actively removing toxins from your tissues.

Accumulated toxins become lodged in our soft tissues, our organs, joints, jaw and even the brain. Phase I of D2D was designed to allow your body to calm down from the state of being hypersensitive. It was also a time to allow the gut lining cells to heal. In Phase II we took that principle a step further by increasing the amount of fermented food in the diet. The aim here was to increase the health of the gut lining cells but to also boost the function of the liver and gall bladder, which are important parts of the detoxification process. In Phase II your bowels should have become fulling functioning and you should be passing 2-3 soft stools a day. There should be no bloating and gas and the indigestion should also be largely gone. Your joints should be less painful and you should notice that any brain fog should be clearing. Your energy levels should have improved a lot and your sleep may have also improved. You may in fact feel just about recovered. Great!

This third phase requires that your detoxification mechanisms particularly your gut, are functioning normally. The toxins that sit in the tissue cause inflammation and damage to the DNA. By working on Phase I and II, you have given your body the means to deal with this inflammation. Your immune system is able to manage the inflammation caused by the toxins. You may also be beginning to eliminate toxins, especially as fermented foods helps the body to do this. In Phase 3, I’ve suggested some mechanisms that you can use to go one step further in coaxing the toxins out of the places that they have lodged.

These mechanisms involve

  • Heat
  • Electrons
  • Anti-inflammation

Any heat or sweating such as from exercise, allows toxins to be eliminated into sweat. Infra-red saunas are much gentler than traditional saunas as they only require a few minutes of heating. The negative hydrogen foot bath is a very simple device that many have found very useful for the elimination of toxins. After the footbath it is advisable to then drink water or exercise, so that the toxins are more readily discharged from the body.  Light therapy and Hyperbaric oxygen therapies are two modalities that have been shown to assist in the anti-inflammatory process. Cryotherapy machines are used by many large sporting institutions to assist in post-exercise recovery. They too have been shown to assist in the anti-inflammatory process. You may not have access to a whole-body cryotherapy chamber but you are likely to have access to cold water, particularly if you live in a colder climate. Finishing your shower on cold is just one little step to stimulating blood flow and reducing inflammation.

Don't forget to continue eating well. The Phase III equipment is certainly useful but remember - 'You can't outrun a bad diet'.
